The encyclopedia eidolica is assembled with a single Ruby script. I also use a quick Makefile to automate pushing the built site onto the internet.

It’s hosted alongside paralogue.org on a VPS provided by nulled.llc.

I write primarily with VSCodium and good old vim, depending on the hardware available.

The encyclopedia eidolica was inspired by a variety of blogs that went beyond their author’s namesake; I felt that my blog was a de facto “professional presence” and wanted a vague delineation for a creative outlet with its own name. It felt like I was accidentally constructing brand recognition by personal name, instead of making projects out of eras – like Momus’ Click Opera. I think it’s important to give a name to discrete moments, like Swans into the Angels of Light and back to Swans again.

Stylistically I find myself captivated both by Neocities maximalism and the minimal, low-kb design of XXIIVV and Low-Tech Magazine, trying to find a middle ground between austerity and practicality; elegance; and self-expression.1

  1. I also have a soft spot for mid-2000s layouts but I just cannot think of a good way to channel that.
